Access Subject

Access Subject explores the relationship between Marley Starskey Butler, their birth mother, and the children’s services records relating to Marley’s early years (ages 0 to 3), when they were under her care. It serves as a tool to facilitate their first conversations about each other’s life stories and their relationship. Additionally, it examines the various perspectives involved in the process of safeguarding both children and adults. Excerpts from this project were included in the 2024 exhibition, Thirty-Six, with the full project currently being developed into a single publication.
